JOAQUÍN SANTUBER METAVERSE LAB | JKU LINZ


Joaquín Santuber is a lawyer and obtained his PhD in Design and IT-Systems from the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, Potsdam, Germany on the topic of designing for digital justice. As junior-research-group lead at the Metaverse Lab, Johannes Kepler University Linz, he works with art-based and design approaches to legality in digital environments.
He has been Assistant Professor at Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia, research fellow at the HIIG, Berlin, and the Center for Social Studies, University of Coimbra. Currently Joaquín serves as editor of the LD Journal and fellow of the GovTech LATAM Lab.




KRISTINA TICA
METAVERSE LAB | JKU LINZ
Kristina Tica is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher, with her most recent practice centred on the artistic and theoretical exploration of the aesthetics and ethics of machine learning applications in visual computational processes. Tracing the impact of emergent technologies in popular culture under critical theory and philosophy in media and arts, her work activity spans through various disciplines - from visual arts, to coding, writing, and music.
Currently, she is pursuing her practical and theoretical PhD research at the intersection of critical AI and Law at the Metaverse Lab [LIFT_C] at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, and she is a Lecturer in Feminist Hacking Strategies for the MA Postdigital Lutherie at the Tangible Music Lab / Kunstuniversität Linz.
Exhibited at festivals such as Ars Electronica, Speculum Artium, ESOF Trieste, The Wrong. She is the recipient of the art+science AI Lab Award (RS) 2020. Works recently published in Leonardo Journal (Vol. 57) and The Practice of Art and AI by Hatje Cantz.

PABLO HERMANSENDISENO UC​​
Pablo Hermansen (CL) is a designer who holds a PhD in Architecture and Urban Studies from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Dr. Hermansen’s research and publications focus on the material conditions of interspecies coexistence, prototyping as a more-than-human research device, and performative strategies for the political visibility of counter-hegemonic groups in public space. He works in the fields of digital museography and interactive installation and provides consulting services in the area of critical service design for public institutions. He was part of the curatorial team of the Chilean pavilion entitled Tectonic Resonances that won the London Design Biennale in 2021.  
MARCOS CHILET  
DISENO UC / NUCLEO FAIR ​​
Marcos Chilet (CL) is a designer who earned his undergraduate degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MA from Goldsmiths College, University of London. He is now Professor of Future Scenarios at the School of Design, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. His practice and research areas are critical design, the relationship between politics, designers, and media technologies. He recently published the book  Materiales Televisivos: hacia una economía digital de los contenidos about the impact of international streaming services in the Chilean TV culture. He was part of the curatorial team of the Chilean pavilion entitled Tectonic Resonances that won the London Design Biennale in 2021
He is currently Sub-Director of the School of Design of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. 
JONATHAN A. EDELMAN PRODUCT REALISATION LAB | STANFORD UNIVERSITY
Jonathan A. Edelman (US) is a designer with an MFA and PhD from Stanford University. He is currently lecturer at the Product Realization Lab, Stanford University, and Visiting Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. He has been the Head of the Global Innovation Programme at the Royal College of Arts, London, UK, as well as head of the Digital Health Design Lab, at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, Potsdam, Germany. Dr. Edelman is the executive director of the Center for Advanced Design Studies LLC, Palo Alto, California.
